about

"This is a Neo-Soul song about my view on the social issues today regarding black lives matter and inequality in the world. The was song produced and composed by Yrk Rd and the lyrics were written by myself. I feel strongly that no lives matter until all lives matter, and all lives do not matter if black lives don't matter. I wanted to write about my views and feelings as a Black British Woman, who, though is still young, has views and thoughts. This song is for everyone to hear and enjoy, as we are all one race, the human race." - Aliya

lyrics

Concerned for all my children,
My brothers and my sisters
Will they be denied equality?

You're asking the same questions
How much we gotta show you?
Ignoring all the answers
Same old thing

Progressing our own movement
With all cultures and all people
But its clear that you aren't listening

Time's ticking on
And nothing seems to change
Why must we live
Through all this pain again?

Chorus
Change gon come
(I know x3)
This one's different
Change gon come
I know x6
Ooo oh oooh oh x2
Oooo

Common rule of history
Learn from your mistakes
Cus I know
When I was born
My brain never said to hate
But it doesn't matter
How do you speak to
A brick wall
All we can do
Is stand tight,
Unite,
Soldiers fight our fight

Chorus
Change gon come
I know x3
(oooh)
This one's different
Change gon come
I know x2 (change is coming)
I know x2 (change is coming)
I know x2 (change is coming)
Ooo oh oooh oh x2
Oooo
(Ooo oh oooh oh
Oooo) - harmony

Change gon come
I know x3
(change is coming)
This one's different
Change gon come
I know x2 (change is coming)
I know x2 (change is coming)
I know x2 (change is coming)
Ooo oh oooh oh x2
Oooo
(Ooo oh oooh oh
Oooo) - harmony

I don't care your race
(no, no, no)
I don't care your gender or your age
(gender or your age)
Don't be non-racist
(Be anti-racist)
Pray for change
Change gon come
